Louisa’s practice originates in painting, but encompasses installed and performative works as well as print, animation and text. Her work questions spaces and territories, structuring principles and narratives of origin. She is interested in the transmission and mediation of images through time and process, and the intersections which occur between archival research and art practice. She has taught widely, most recently as Head of Painting at Camberwell. Awards include Abbey Fellow in Painting at The British School at Rome, the Midland Bank Award, and the Art Foundation Fellowship in Painting.
