Success is spiky for Winchester School of Art student

Published: 27 October 2014

Third year Fine Art student Amy-Rose Holland has attracted the attention of French car maker Citroen for her first solo show.

Amy’s exhibition at WSA is called Cactus and Citroen’s latest car is called the C4 Cactus. She approached a local dealer in Winchester about the coincidence; they contacted the company’s marketing team and the carmaker has agreed to sponsor the Private View on Monday 27 October and supply a car for Amy to decorate.

“Citroen want a ‘killer photograph’ of the C4 Cactus to use in their marketing material so I have to turn the car into an artwork for them,” she explains. “I describe my art as fun and accessible so I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

This is not Amy’s first connection with French culture. She spent time at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris as part of an Erasmus exchange earlier in her studies.

The Private View will take place between 4.00pm and 8.00pm at WSA and the Citroen C4 Cactus will be parked outside the gallery. The solo show runs until 31 October.
