biographical note

David Miller was born in Melbourne in 1950, and has lived in London since 1972. A writer of poetry, short fiction and criticism, he has published over fifty books and pamphlets. Reality Street Editions will publish his book Spiritual Letters (I-II) in 2004. His writing has been celebrated in At the Heart of Things: the poetry and prose of David Miller (Stride, Exeter, 1994). He is represented in several anthologies, including The New British Poetry, 1968 - 1988, edited by Gillian Allnutt, Ken Edwards and others (Paladin, London, 1988), A State of Independence, edited by Tony Frazer (Stride, 1998) and In the Company of Poets, edited by John Rety (Hearing Eye, London, 2003). Formerly a librarian (with University College London), he is at present a Research Fellow in English Literature at Nottingham Trent University. Amongst his other current activities, he is an Associate Editor of Poetry Salzburg Review, an organiser of poetry readings (Crossing the Line at the Poetry Cafe, in collaboration with Jeff Hilson and Sean Bonney) and a member of an improvised music group (The Mind Shop)
