biographical note

Born in Edinburgh 1928. Spent much of his life in England, Canada, the United States, and Edinburgh.
Was increasingly interested in constructing what he called 'kinetic poems', usually visual devices, with elements of change, movement, possibility. Dynamic as opposed to static. In the installation below it is the viewer/reader who must move, starting and stopping as they may chance to do. Died July 2, 2004.
