GY210 Ingleton Field Course: arrival, registration, etc.

You must register with the field course leaders at The Bridge Inn at around 7.00pm on the evening of Saturday 17th June, which is prior to the Introductory Lecture at 7.30pm at the same venue that evening. The coursework will officially begin at the Waterfalls Walk car park (see local map) at 9.00am on Sunday 18th June.

All students will have made their own accommodation arrangements for the trip. For safety reasons, we must know where you are staying at all times during the trip, and you will be required to complete a form providing these details at registration. You must not move from your stated accommodation without informing us in writing. Under no circumstances must you leave the area without informing the leader of the trip.

During the week there will be two one-day excursions, and two quarry visits. It is absolutely essential that you are on time for these visits, because we must all travel together or enter the quarries together. Failure to attend any of these excursions without notification may result in the delay or cancellation of the trip and, for safety reasons, a search party may be sent out to find you. You will be docked financial support for the day and your cheque will be delayed.

Given that for the majority of the Waterfalls' Walk mapping exercise you will be in the field with your mapping partner, and must ensure that you register/make yourself known to the fieldtrip staff/demonstrators at least once each day, not only for safety reasons but so we know you have been out in the field!
