Hi, my name is Rob, I'm a PhD student at the University of Southampton studying Type Ia Supernovae, supervised by Dr. Mark Sullivan.
I am a postgraduate student in my 3rd year at the University of Southampton, supervised by Dr. Mark Sullivan. My main research area is Supernova Type Ia, and I am particularly interested in the early emission and what this can tell us about the power source of the SN and their ejecta properties. Currently, I am using data fro m the Palomar Transient Factory to achieve this aim. I am also part of the PESSTO collaboration and was lucky enough to travel to the NTT at La Silla, Chile, in November 2014 for a 10 night observing run. I did my undergraduate MPhys studies at the University of Sheffield, where my main observing project was a study of the accretion disc in V1315 Aquilae, a cataclysmic variable.See less
