Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales . Main Board Director for Whitbread, as Managing Director of the £1bn Restaurants Division, extensive hospitality experience. Non-executive director of Rank, the gaming company, and Barratt Developments, the FTSE250 property business. Chairman of St Modwen, also a FTSE250 property business.
At Whitbread, led the revival of the restaurant brands’ fortunes, creating a market-leading portfolio which included Brewers Fayre, Brewsters, Beefeater, TGI Friday’s, Costa and Pizza Hut. Led 12% per annum profit growth and incremental shareholder value of £500m.
Past Chairman of Gaucho Grill, the restaurant business backed by Barclays Private Equity, and Pizza Hut UK. Non-executive director of Matalan, the fashion retailer, and currently sits on the Board of Johnson Service Group, a support services business.
Appointed to Council in 2015.
