Registering and Logging in

To make an application for accommodation you will first need to Register with our Online Accommodation website if you have not already done so. To register with the site you will need to enter the following details:

  • Your 8-digit University of Southampton Student ID number (which will appear on your offer letter from the University)
  • Your Family Name
  • Your Date of Birth

You will need to create a Username, which should be your permanent email address. You will then need to enter a Password of your choosing.

The University of Southampton has experienced difficulties in emailing Hotmail accounts - Hotmail accounts frequently register emails from the university as being "spam" and so many students do not see these email. As a result our emails may not reach these accounts. This includes registration and validation emails for accommodation applications. We are currently advising that new applicants register with an alternative to a Hotmail account to avoid registration problems. If you have any questions regarding this please contact us via a non-Hotmail email account or on 023 8059 9599.

Once you have entered these details, a Validation Code will be sent to your email address - both the one you registered with and your University account. When you receive this you should return to the Online Accommodation website and Login by entering your Username and Password and enter Validation Code when prompted. Please note that after you have logged in once, you will no longer need to enter your Validation Code to Login on other occasions.

Once you have logged in, you can make an application from the Applications section of the site.
