Partners

ACI works with a number of key partners within academia and industry to ensure that appropriate expertise is provided where needed, to ensure the optimum delivery of projects. Several of these partnerships have themselves developed out of projects, or through expertise created during wider research projects within Archaeology at Southampton.

Industry Partners

ACI regularly works with individuals and organisations from within the creative industries sector as a means to provide appropriate expertise.

Pro Progressione

Pro Progressione works towards the creation and support of an open and diverse culture, a vision built on collaboration, rather than conflict. They work on international projects and productions, as well as operating as an umbrella organisation for artists and partners in national and international contexts.

ArtasMedia Ltd

Founded in 2012 by archaeological computing graduate (University of Southampton) Grant Cox, ArtasMedia Ltd specialises in the reconstruction and dissemination of digital heritage content. Their aim is to produce engaging, academically credible content, at the highest technical level possible. ArtasMedia has worked on a number of projects within Archaeology at Southampton, as well on projects for clients such as The British Museum, Historic England, Action Impact, Museo dell-Ara Pacis, and LookBermuda.

3D Scanning Ireland

3D scanning Ireland was established by Pat Tanner and specialises in the capture and 3D modelling of physical objects through laser scanning. A specific area of expertise is in the digital reconstruction of historic ships, of which Pat is a world-leading propenent. His innovative methods allow every element of the ship to be modelled at full-scale, and assigned real-world material properties. Models can then be subjected to further naval architecture analysis to assess hydrostatics and stability, allowing reconstructed ships to be was more realistic in their physical characteristics than allowed by traditional methods.
