I am a Teaching Fellow in the Academic Centre for International Students, part of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton.

At Southampton I am course leader of the LLM Pre-sessional and co-ordinate language support for students of Southampton Law School with the English for Law programme. I also work on the Pre-Masters programme, convening the English for Masters Study module. I represent the University of Southampton as BALEAP rep for ACIS and on the Academic Steering Group of the Universities Pathway Alliance. I am also UCU rep for ACIS.

I am currently studying for an MSc in Teaching English Language in University Settings (TELUS) at University of Oxford. I have a B.A. (Hons) in Hispanic Studies from University of Bristol, where I specialised in Spanish and Catalan language. I have RSA Cambridge CELTA and DELTA and the Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation (Italian to English). I became a Senior Fellow of the HEA in August 2018.

Previously, I worked in Italy (1999-2013) as freelance teacher, trainer and translator, specialising in Legal English and Academic English. I worked for British Council Milan from 2003-2013. My time there included training and course preparation for British Council collaborations with the European Patent Office in Munich, Germany and for the Council of Europe/Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Bosnia/Herzegovina and Montenegro. I also taught English for Academic purposes in universities in the north of Italy for several years, e.g. Politecnico di Milano, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Università del Piemonte Orientale in Vercelli.
