Flying high in the Rolls-Royce lecture

Published: 29 October 2012 Origin:  Engineering

More than 270 people, including many engineering students learned about the Challenge of Flying Vertically: Rolls-Royce Lift System powering the Joint Strike Fighter F35B in a public lecture delivered by Jon Wandless, Chief Engineer, Lift Systems, Rolls-Royce.

This Rolls-Royce lecture in October 2012 was organised by the local Solent branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), in conjunction with the University of Southampton's Engineering, IT and Science Careers Fair. It also marked the beginning of the new lecture season for the branch.

The Society accredits and recognises some of the engineering degree courses at the University. It also promotes the interactions between industries and the University through public lectures and other events.
