Professor Matthias Heil, The University of Manchester . Professor Matthias Heil is Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Manchester. His research interests include: scientific computing; fluid-structure interaction problems; the propagation of an air finger into a collapsed elastic tube; static liquid bridges in elastic tubes; surface-tension-driven instabilities in elastic tubes; computational fluid dynamics; finite element methods; large displacement shell theory; and experimental methods.
