Remote sensing

Using satellites for remote sensing opens up a world of useful information about the earth and how it works.  The group has been focusing particularly on:

We research into both data acquisition and analysis and work done within the group includes new methods for performing measurements, new instruments and analysis tools and the design of entire space systems and individual spacecraft to perform given missions.  More general work has also been done on the development of automated satellite imagery analysis algorithms capable of autonomous recognition, tracking and comparison of objects.

Collaborators/funders

The EPSRC is one of our main funders in this field.  We also collaborate closely with colleagues from the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS).
