Ning Wang is a Visiting Fellow in Centre for Research on Ageing, University of Southampton. Prior to this, she was a postgraduate researcher in the department of Gerontology.

‘Ageing and old age cannot be understood, either at the individual or societal level, without paying attention to the cumulated life practices and experiences of ageing individuals’----Dale Dannefer and Richard A. Settersten, Jr.

After completing the BSc and MSc in Sociology in China, Ning continued her PhD in Gerontology in the University of Southampton. Her PhD project investigates the intergenerational family support amongst three cohorts of older people in China, by employing an explanatory sequential mixed-methods approach.

In November 2017, Ning was recruited as a senior research assistant/research fellow for the ESRC SDAI Project in Centre for Research on Ageing.  Her main role is to analyse the secondary qualitative data in NCDS using NVIVO, and contribute to the integration of both quantitative and qualitative results.
