The team in the Gerontology Division is passionate about research and this passion has whetted my appetite for research.
Why did you chose to undertake your studies at the University of Southampton?
I completed my BSc Community Practice at the University of Southampton in 2000. I had fond memories of my time spent at the University, especially the library facilities, IT and staff support. I feel the standard and quality of teaching is second to none.
What did you enjoy about studying at Southampton?
The part I enjoyed most about studying at Southampton was the excellent library facilities and IT support, which made my studying and research processes seamless and stress-free.
What have you been able to achieve as a result of studying at the University of Southampton?
I have achieved an MSc Gerontology as a result of studying at the University of Southampton. This course has helped me to develop a keen interest in research as a specialist clinician. The team in the Gerontology Division is passionate about research and this passion has whetted my appetite for research. I am actively seeking a position in research in healthcare; however, I am also open to other careers in research relating to age and ageing. Since completing my MSc Gerontology I have been invited to sit on the steering research group of Age and Ageing at the local hospital for the Wessex Region.
