Ms Eleanor Moonan-Howard is an ESRC DTP funded postgraduate researcher in Gerontology at The University of Southampton.

I completed an undergraduate qualification (MA Soc Sci Hons) in Sociology at the University of Glasgow in 2015. Whilst in Scotland I worked for Glasgow City Council as a Social Research Intern and GIS analyst in the Housing and Regeneration Services.

My first-class undergraduate dissertation focussed on identities in later life, and sparked my interest in Gerontology. I proceeded to specialise in this field through an MSc in Gerontology (Research) at the University of Southampton in 2016.

In 2017 I combined my research interests in Gerontology and Housing and Neighbourhoods in a PhD as part of the ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership.

My PhD focusses on the impact of neighbourhood on social networks and well-being in later life.
