We are looking to recruit people aged 65-75 to take part in a study to investigate the effect of inflammation on age-related hearing loss.

Age-related hearing loss is the most common cause of hearing loss in adults, having a large impact on quality of life. The aim of the study is to investigate the contribution of inflammation on age-related hearing loss. If inflammation is found to be a relevant factor in age-related hearing loss, it will mean the progression of this type of hearing loss can be reduced by controlling inflammation.

Interested participants will attend 3 separate appointments over a 3-year period. Each appointment will involve two different hearing tests and provision of blood and urine samples. An appointment will last about 90 minutes.
