The poem is an uplifting, touching and empowering piece of work. The poem was circulated on the website on a few years ago and has since generated huge hits globally on social media and other networks. It charts a man's life from youth through to old age and while highlighting some of the negative aspects of ageing, such as bereavement and loneliness it is also a celebration of the richness of life.

UN International Day of Older Persons- New Ageing USRG Website

On the 1st October 2012 the world will celebrate the 22nd Anniversary of the United Nations International Day of Older Persons.
