We are pleased to announce that bookings for the forthcoming international conference to commemorate the 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt which takes place at the University of Southampton between Friday 31 July and Monday 3 August 2015 is now open.
We are expecting a great number of guests from all over the world to attend this conference so ensure you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
We have a number of prestigious key-note speakers including Professor Bertrand Schnerb (University of Lille III) and Dr Andrew Ayton (University of Hull). Dr Ian Mortimer will be giving the special public lecture on The Meaning of War.
This will be a very special event with privileged excursions to the Mary Rose, Porchester Castle, Titchfield Barn (which is now a theatre), Titchfield Abbey along with the conference dinner being held at Fort Nelson, which includes a private tour of the Fort. There will be a wide range of other talks and other special events including a visit to the defences of Southampton.
The conference will start on Friday 31 July at 14.00 (registration from 12.00) and closes at 12.00 on Monday 3 August 2015. Please see the draft programme for further information.
There are a number of packages available with costs starting from as little as £100. The complete package, costing £325 (early bird rate - before 30 June) includes all en-suite accommodation, catering, all sessions and all the privileged visits. Accommodation for the conference is located at Glen Eyre Halls, University of Southampton. However for those attending the conference as a non-resident and wish to make your own accommodation arrangements, please do see our list of local hotels/guest houses .
There is a discount available for members of the Guild of Battlefield Guides and The Battlefield Trust , and should you wish to benefit from this discount, but are not yet a member please do visit their websites and sign up.
We are hoping to obtain further student bursaries and further information will be circulated in due course.
Please note that any bookings received after the 30 June, the full charge will be applied, as we are charged additional administrative costs so ensure you book early to avoid disappointment.
