A new podcast series of cultural conversations featuring Haroon Mirza and Jussi Parikka
AMT Director and WSA Professor Jussi Parikka is in conversation with the visual and sound artist Haroon Mirza in a new podcast series Conversations in Time. Recorded as part of the Aarhus European Capital of Culture 2017 Public Programme, the series invites a range of renowned artists, writers and cultural thinkers in dialogues that address the general question “What is the role of art in a time of accelerated social change and environmental uncertainty?”
Haroon Mirza is an artist based in London who also studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art. His work combines light, sound and video to produce kinetic sculptures, performances and immersive installations. Mirza has won several awards including the Northern Art Prize (2010), the Silver Lion for Most Promising Artist in 2011 at the 54th Venice Biennale, the Nam June Paik Art Centre Award (2014) and the Calder Prize (2015).
