AHRC CDA awarded to examine the Portable Antiquities Scheme Database
The Archaeological Computing Research Group has been awarded a collaborative doctoral award by the AHRC.
This collaboration with the British Museum and the Portable Antiquities Scheme will explore the biases within the scheme's database. In particular it will consider whether spatial statistical approaches can assist in the evaluation of the PAS data, and also whether we can learn more about the data capture PROCESS from detectorists and from comparative activity related to other disciplines.
