Abstract

Koutroulou magoula is a Neolithic tell site in Central Greece that has been investigated by a joined project conducted by the University of Southampton and the Greek Ministry of Culture. One of the most central issues of the project lies on the understanding of the ceramic equipment from the mound as a social apparatus and individual experience through the consideration of the potting practices and the spatial use of the vessels as small scale processes. The present seminar aspires to reflect on how such choices taken at contingent contexts may be transformative to the long-term trajectory of the mound.
