MS 104 Papers of Professor Albert A.Cock

Albert A.Cock

Albert A.Cock (1883-1953) was educated at King's College, London, where he obtained a first class degree in philosophy. He was a lecturer in education and philosophy at King's College, London, 1906-19; special lecturer in St Mary's College, Hammersmith, 1909-19; Professor of Education and Philsophy at the University College, Southampton, 1916-39 and Vice Principal, 1937-9. He was also warden of the men's halls of residence, 1921-39 and Visiting Professor of Christian Apologetics in the General Theological Seminary, New York, 1932-3. In 1939 Cock was ordained. He was Principal of St John's Diocesan Training College, York, 1939-45.

Correspondence, 1927-46, with some tutorial papers, 1933-7; official papers as examiner, 1934-9; papers for committees and organisations including the National Assocation of Boys' Clubs, 1935-7, the Southampton Society for the Study of Religion, 1927- 32 and the Zululand Missionary Association, 1936-7. Personal correspondence, 1939-46.
