MS 125 Papers of Revd Michael Adler

Revd Michael Adler (1868-1944), DSO, BA, was senior Jewish chaplain to the British Expeditionary Force in France during the First World War. He was minister of Hammersmith Synagogue; minister of Central Synagogue until 1934; Chairman of the Jewish Central Lads' Club; and Vice President and editor of publications of the Jewish Historical Society.

Four diaries recording services for regiments in France, as well as describing enemy attacks, bombings and other military events, including courts martial, Jan 1915 - Nov 1918.
