MS 23 First Delphic Hymn, transcribed by Benjamin Britten

A single sheet containing a transcription by Benjamin Britten of the first Delphic Hymn, the Greek melody from which Britten drew for his own Hymn to Apollo in the first act of Death in Venice (1973). The manuscript shows by some of Britten's markings the sections of the Greek melody he had decided to adapt for his own purposes.
