Caesar C.Aronsfeld

Caesar C.Aronsfeld (c.1910-) was born in Exin (Kcynia), Poland, which he left in 1920 to go to Berlin. He came to England in 1933. He came into contact with Dr Alfred Wiener in 1938 and worked for the Wiener Library from shortly afterwards, firstly in Holland and then in London. He has edited Patterns of prejudice and Christian-Jewish relations and is the author of numerous essays on contemporary and historical aspects of Jewish life, international anti-Semitism and the rise of the Nazi party. His books include The ghosts of 1492: Jewish aspects of the struggle for religious freedom in Spain 1848-1976 (New York, 1979); The text of the Holocaust: a study of Nazi extermination propaganda 1919-45 (Marblehead, Mass., 1985); and an autobiography, Wanderer from my birth (London, 1997).
