Details of the première of the group's Grand Challenge film on emergency and disaster response, are now live.

The listing has been published on the website of UK Robotics Week.

The film opens with a dramatic sequence that was shot on location at Fawley Power Station. Taking part alongside members of Hampshire Fire and Rescue, and Hampshire Police, are year 10 students from The New Forest Academy in nearby Holbury. The team from Fawley also played roles in the scene, alongside professional actors.

The purpose of the film is to showcase research at the University of Southampton in the area of autonomous systems and robotics. The film features as many of the technologies as could be fitted in and also includes robotics research from other Universities in the RAS Network. To find out which ones, attend the film première at the University of Southampton on 26 June or look up the film on YouTube later, once the première has aired.
