Policy and outreach

Policy and outreach activities related to the project

During the project workshop on Uncertainty and Complexity of Migration, held in London on 20-21 November 2018, the second day has been devoted to panel discussions on two themes: migration knowledge gaps and ways to filling them, and making simulation models useful for policy. We were delighted to be able to host a range of eminent panellists, from academia and some key stakeholder organisations, including EASO, Eurostat, IOM, Office for National Statistics and UNHCR. The panel and ensuing disussion was held under the Chatham House Rule. A full project report, including summary conclusions from the panel discussions, is available for download at the bottom of the page.

The outreach activities related to the workshop included a public lecture event, also related to the keynote theme of Uncertainty and Complexity of Migration. The lecture was organised and hosted by the University of Southampton, and was aimed at a general audience. The video recording of the full event can be found on the Media site.

Earlier activities in 2018 included another public lecture, on "The Uncertain World of International Migration", which was given by Jakub Bijak at Science Cafe Winchester on 2 July 2018.
