About the project

This project explores the cultural implications of current research in epigenetics, which is taking our understanding of the human condition beyond the gene-centric model that dominated science and culture in the 20th century. This new science is uncovering the complex of genetic and non-genetic factors which shape human development. Public understanding of heritability and genetics is beginning to be transformed; we aim to help lay the foundations for an accurate, informed picture based on genuine dialogue between the humanities and the sciences.
