Technical Team Leader (Research)

Dave joined Biological Sciences in 1980 as a laboratory technician and returned in 2003 following a 9 year period as the Chief Sciences Technician and Health & Safety Officer at UoS New College. Dave assisted in the departmental move from Boldrewood to the purposely designed B85 and is now responsible for assisting in the planning & delegation of duties for research technical staff within the Biological Sciences. He ensure that one of the 2 large multidiscipline communal laboratories and its infrastructure run safely and efficiently, inducts and advises staff and students in the safe use of the laboratory and a range of scientific equipment. Dave has primary oversight of the Ultra-Low Temperature Freezer Facility, Liquid Nitrogen room and Cryogenic storage facilities.
Science, technology, biology and the natural world are where my interests lie. As a result I constantly endeavour to keep pace with developments and discoveries by all available resources.
