Jane has first line responsibility for the leadership and provision of the technical services that support education in the teaching laboratory facilities within Biological Sciences. Jane determines priorities and oversees the allocation of resources to ensure undergraduate practicals are delivered on time and up to spec.
Jane joined Biological Sciences in 1999 as an education and research support technician in Cell Sciences. In 2000 she moved to a similar role in Biochemistry and in 2007 took on the role of Team Leader for Physiology/Pharmacology/Neuroscience education and research infrastructure support. Biological Sciences moved from the Boldrewood Campus to its current location on Highfield Campus in 2010 and this necessitated a restructuring of the technical team. Jane was allocated the role of Technical Team Leader for Education and played a major role in ensuring a successful move to B85 for the technical aspects of education support. In 2013 Jane was promoted to Deputy Senior Technical Manager for Education leading the teaching technical staff team.
