Mrs Marilyn Jenkins
Laboratory Technician supporting Research
Marilyn joined the University in 2008 providing technical support for the Undergraduate Biochemistry practical program.
In 2010 the School moved to a new purpose built facility. With a change in role, Marilyn now provides technical support to the research activities of the academic staff and their research groups. Her primary role is to ensure the laboratories are maintained as a safe and ordered environment. She is responsible for ensuring that the communal laboratories & research equipment are maintained to a high standard.
Marilyn has a pivotal role training and inducting both technical staff and students in procedures and usage of facilities and resources. Marilyn is responsible for the day to day maintenance of the Tissue Culture Facility and the provision of an array of stocks and consumables through the Supply Centres, Media Kitchen and Biological Sciences Stores.
