Funding from the Gerald Kerkut Charitable Trust

The Gerald Kerkut Charitable Trust provides support for a number of studentships each year.

Professor Gerald Kerkut enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the areas of physiology and biochemistry at the University of Southampton. In 1997 Professor Kerkut established a charitable trust, to support education and research in physiology.

This typically enables funding for a number of postgraduate studentships each year,  hosted by the School of Biological Sciences or other schools working in this field. Academics apply annually to the Trust for funding for individual projects, which will then be advertised in the normal way. For this reason, you should apply to the school for an advertised opportunity, rather than to the Trust.
