Event details
Nature Plants, a new member of the Nature family of journals, has launched in January 2015. BSPS is pleased to announce, that the Chief Editor of Nature Plants, Chris Surridge will be our guest on 28th January 2015 and will provide a workshop about publishing especially for you!
Abstract
: For a scientists, communicating what they have done and what it might mean is at least as important as doing the experiments in the first place. However to do so a scientist must publish in scientific journals and tangle with the processes of peer review. This can be a daunting prospect. How do you know what journal to submit to? Will double-blind review be fairer? Is Open Access best? How should I respond to referees reports? Who are Journal Editors and who would want to be one? How can I stop my rivals blocking publication of my work? In this workshop Chris Surridge (Chief Editor of Nature Plants and formerly an editor on journals such as Nature, PLoS ONE and Nature Protocols) will give a guide to the processes of scientific publication and try to give some advice on how to avoid the major pitfalls on the way to seeing your research published.
The space for this workshop is limited! All PhD students and Post-docs are welcome to register here:
