Event details
Understanding how biodiversity is responding to environmental change is, in part, a problem in population biology.
Demographic models provide a tool that enables us to quantify how environmental change might affect population growth and persistence, and hence identify strategies that reduce negative impacts. Agriculture is a major driver of biodiversity loss. How might population biology help us reduce these impacts? My talk will use data from temperate and tropical wild bird populations to highlight the challenges involved and the approaches we might use.
