Masters research project: The ecological relevance of mesocosm experiments in representing soil microbial communities in a limestone grassland.





Research interests

My main research areas of interest are soil ecology and microbiology, environmental biology, sustainable development, Food Security and conservation. 

My PhD project investigates multi-trophic interactions between soil microbial communities, plants and insect herbivores, and the potential to manipulate the rhizosphere in order to stimulate crop growth and reduce insect herbivory.

Supervisor: Professor Guy Poppy, Dr Jeremy Webb.
PhD research:
Managing soil biodiversity for the intensification of agriculture.
Funding: BBSRC (Food Security DTP).
