Isabelle Sumner is an MRes Advanced Biological Science student within Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton.

In 2017 I completed my undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Bath, majoring in pharmacology. As part of my degree I undertook an industrial placement year at GlaxoSmithKline in Stevenage working in the Immunoinflammation department, with a project focusing on complement in osteoarthritis.

Research interests

Research area:

During my MRes at the University of Southampton I am completing a project looking at the functions of anti-amyloid beta antibodies as therapies for Alzheimer’s Disease, with the aim of helping improve their function whilst reducing side effects.

Aims for the future:

From October I will be studying Graduate Entry medicine at the University of Cambridge.
