Research interests
I have previously undertaken volunteering opportunites working in both clinical neuroscience positions and within the community, focusing on the field of neurodegeneration.
Why I chose MRes Advanced Biological Science
I chose to undertake an MRes in Advanced Biological Science as I am keen to advance my knowledge of neuroscience beyond undergraduate level, while working in a research lab setting.
Studying at Southampton University will allow me to develop a number of practical skills as well as analytical, and statistical skills in order to prepare me for an exciting career in neuroscience research.
Aims for the future
I have a keen interest in the areas of neurodegenerative disease and neuroimmunology. I hope to work in this area and also gain skills in the area of statistics and bioinformatics. The title of the research project I will be working on during my time at Southampton is: “Unravelling the clonal nature of microglial diversity in the brain”.
