Lydia Doherty is a Postgraduate research student in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton.

She received her BSc Biological Sciences from Bournemouth University. Her undergraduate research focused on structurally and functionally characterising the bacterial membrane-bound transporter protein, GusB. Upon completion of her degree, she won two scholarships which enabled her to continue that research at the National Key Laboratory, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In 2019 she joined the Glycoprotein Therapeutics Laboratory as a Research Technician under Professor Max Crispin. Her current research is focused on the engineering and production of therapeutic antibodies.
