Mr Pengrui Cai is a postgraduate research student within Biological Sciences at the University of Southampton. He got his BSc in environmental science and is currently working on microorganisms related to wheat.

2013 – 2017:BSc. United International College, PRC.

2019 – Present: PhD. University of Southampton, UK.

Research interests

Currently, I am interested in the correlation between the microorganisms (e.g. micorrhizae) and the wheat growing, because food production this is an important issues nowadays.

The microorganisms surrounding the plant in rhyzosphere can reach the nutrients (e.g. phosphorus and nitrogen) and supply it to the plant in different conditions, by taking to closer look, we might be able to find the way to grow the wheat in the better way thus increase the yield.
