Aralee Rose Ramos Master of Biomedical Science with Foundation Year, 2016

I had an Internship at the end of my second year at the University’s Cancer Sciences Centre at Southampton General Hospital - that was when I definitely knew I wanted to specialise in cancer research.
My favourite part of my degree was the opportunity to work in well-equipped laboratories alongside world-renowned scientists. My main research interest is cancer and I was able to work on projects involving both human cancers and contagious cancers that affect Tasmanian Devils. The diversity of projects that are offered here is amazing.

The University of Southampton was the ideal place for me. It’s in the suburbs but still has a city feeling to it and it’s not too far from London. I would advise anyone thinking of coming here to take the plunge. The lecturers are welcoming and approachable, they’ll encourage you to follow your interests and help all they can.
