Elvira Piqueras Ricote BSc Zoology, 2018

I have really enjoyed studying at Southampton. My personal tutor has been very supportive throughout the course as well as all other lecturers from Biological Sciences. The facilities at campus are first class. I especially enjoyed my time at the labs. The university has access to all the latest equipment and being able to perform experiments has been one of the highlights of my course.
I thought going to Spain in the first year was a unique experience and not many universities offer the opportunity for first-hand experience in designing your own research project in a beautiful country!
Being away from my family for so long has definitely made me more independent and mature. I initially thought that I would forget everything I have learnt because it's so much information, but being in my last year now, I have realized just how much more knowledge about a broad range of disciplines I have acquired throughout these three years. I have learnt how to work under pressure and to meet the many deadlines we have every year. I have particularly enjoyed all my modules relating to evolution and palaeobiology. So much that I have actually decided to carry onto a masters degree in the subject.
