Our Alpha*\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">roadmap is divided into a number of weekly sprints**<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and we will be communicating results from these on a weekly basis. Each week we will write what we\u2019ve been working on, what we\u2019ve learned, and what we\u2019ll be working on next.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>What we\u2019ve been working on<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This week we defined the baseline &#8211; the starting point from when implementation begins, how improvements will be judged, or comparison is made. We also need to ensure consistency and that the baseline is comprehensive enough to accommodate all the variety and flexibility we offer in our courses. Essentially, they offer us the opportunity to explore how we market them, and how our prospective and current students perceive them. Our selection is broad and representative of the new faculties, but we ensured that they gave us a broad base to work from. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some of the courses: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">operate from different campuses (Winchester, Bolderwood, Highfield etc) <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have a completely different market (eg art degrees) <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have a complicated set of major and minor subjects, or doing two subjects of equal weighting, or have customisation attached to them <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have interesting career prospects <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">operate from multiple campuses (eg Avenue and Highfield) <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer a study abroad option, or just a semester abroad <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cater for multiple year cohorts (eg Medicine) <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer a placement year <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">include field work <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer innovative research environment <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have a need for CPD and a path into a specialist role, which will require continuation of study via additional smaller modules <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer pathway on a course <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer two separate branches within the course <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have a foundation year <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer industrial placements <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer flexible and part-time modules <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have an integrated degree <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have accreditation <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are a two-year course <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are influenced heavily by professional bodies <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer a lot of specialisation in different areas <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer placements in healthcare <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">offer time at the hospital as part of the degree <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">have a strategic value behind them <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">are \u2018straightforward\u2019 courses, but students still have a lot of flexible options <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">had extensive copywriting to tell a story <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>What we\u2019ve learnt<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is still early days, but we started to have some good conversations with various stakeholders about content and some learnings from the OneWeb user needs workshops. We are also looking at some past research conducted by IR, and user testing our team carried out recently. We are also putting together a testing plan so it is clear what we\u2019re doing, why and how this is going to help improve our internal processes and workflows so that we get better at commissioning, governing, designing and retiring course content in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>What we will be working on next <\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next week will be about selecting Single Point of Contact (SPOCs) via the Heads of Faculty operations (HOFOs)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are also attending a meeting with SAA to advise on how this pilot is progressing and how they can help <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are also going to audit all content on the sample course pages, including links. This is effectively our pilot for prototyping our deliverables.<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">**<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> A sprint is a timeboxed effort; that is, it is restricted to a specific duration.
