About
Naveena is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Organisational Behaviour (OB), Departmental Head of Research for HRM and OB and Director for the Centre for Research on Work and Organisations (CRoWO).
Naveena's primary area of research interest is in leadership studies. Naveena has edited a leadership textbook that takes a critical and inclusive approach to leadership theorising. She is also interested in inclusion/exclusion in organisations. Her areas of research extend to the digital context in which she has investigated populist responses to leadership, as well as inclusion/exclusion in digital media platforms.

Current research
Naveena is currently working on projects related to authentic leadership, charismatic leadership, research ecosystem enablers and gendered and racialised experiences of foreign workers.

Naveena is the module lead for the module "Managing Within a Global Context" which is a core module for the MSc International Management, and the MSc Accounting and Management programmes.

Biography
Naveena completed her PhD at Durham University Business School. Her doctoral work investigated authentic leadership, and the notion of “authentic performances” examining two supposedly opposing constructs, authenticity, and impression management in conjunction.
Prior to joining Southampton Business School in September 2020, Naveena was a Lecturer in Leadership/HRM at the School of Management, Swansea University where she led and taught modules including Leadership, Human Resource Management and Business ethics. At Swansea, Naveena held School level roles which include Athena SWAN academic Co-Chair, and Academic Integrity Officer.
Naveena has presented at several international conferences including European Group of Organization Studies, International Critical Management Studies conference, and International Studying Leadership Conference.
