Dr Btissam Er-Rahmadi Dipl.Ing.,MSc, PhD
Research Fellow
Dr. Btissam Er-Rahmadi is a Research Fellow in Networks Systems within Department of Decision Analytics and Risk, Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton.
Dr Er-Rahmadi holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from University Rennes 1, Rennes, France in 2016. Her thesis “Cooperation and Self-* for Small Cells Networks” aims at addressing the challenges of Small Cells deployments in green-field areas at minimal costs and best quality of service. Dr Er-Rahmadi focused more on the analysis of Small Cells deployments related issues in both licensed (cellular: 3G/4G) and unlicensed (i.e. WiFi) spectrums. She also proposed new solutions along with their mathematical models to some of the problem aspects and validated their performances. Prior to her Doctoral degree, Dr Er-Rahmadi received a Master degree in Electronics and Telecoms Systems from University Rennes 1 Rennes, France in 2012; and an Engineer degree in Telecommunications and Information Technologies from INPT (Institut National des Postes et Télécommunications) Rabat, Morocco jointly with Télécom SudParis, Evry, France in 2011.
Dr Er-Rahmadi prepared her PhD work in the Orange Labs, Lannion, France as a full time employee and conducted her research within the project of “Low-cost wireless backhaul architectures for developing countries”.
Currently, Dr Er-Rahmadi is working on a project funded by Huawei in networks systems. The purpose of the project is to propose new solutions to enhance resilience in future virtualised (softwarized) networks.
