Dr Reiner Schaefer is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship within Southampton Bsuiness School in the Department of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Southampton.
He belongs to the Centre for Inclusive and Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CISEI).
Reiner applies his previous PhD and research in philosophy to core concepts in entrepreneurship research.
Reiner is Programme Leader of the MSc in International Entrepreneurship and Management. He has taught on a variety of modules, including:
Reiner holds both a PhD in Management and a PhD in Philosophy, and much of his research involves applying philosophical perspectives (particularly from the neo-pragmatist tradition) to core concepts in entrepreneurship research.
He is particularly interested in how entrepreneurship scholars can more fruitfully understand venture ideas, entrepreneurial opportunities, and entrepreneurial uncertainty in ways that respect practicing entrepreneurs’ perspectives.
