My management with entrepreneurship course prepared me very well for the working world.

My first and only job since graduating has been in online marketing at a great little company called atom42. It’s a small company so everyone is responsible for a lot. This meant that I got a lot of client experience very early on and was able to really get stuck in with the day to day running of an account.

Online marketing is the perfect industry for me to be in; it’s fast paced, ever changing and involves learning so much from Excel wizardry to writing articles. I’ve got no regrets about joining atom42; working in a small company allowed me to do and learn more than I ever thought I would. My proudest moment so far has been getting promoted. It’s amazingly rewarding to be recognised for hard work.

My management with entrepreneurship course prepared me very well for the working world. I would encourage students to read around their subjects. You never know when something will be useful, and companies want well rounded employees (even if the subject is accounting which I was rubbish at!).

I am still in touch with the university and have been down to play ice hockey regularly. Over the next few years I hope to progress at atom42 and stay in touch with Southampton; it’s a great university.
