Why did you choose to study at Southampton?

The CORMSIS programmes offer an opportunity to gain practical work experience through a summer project with national and international companies. Also there are scholarships for Vietnamese students with outstanding achievements.

What were your first impressions of the University?

The friendly and helpful staff, and the culturally diverse environment. Also there were a great number of job opportunities. The University also has a mobile app for both prospective and current students with useful features such as campus map, timetable, buildings' opening times etc.

What did you enjoy most about living in Southampton?

The warmer weather than most parts of the country. It's also within easy reach to London and other popular attractions, and has a self-contained shopping centre.

Would you recommend Southampton to students from your home country? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend it to other Vietnamese students. The Vietnamese society is very supportive and despite everyone's busy schedules, the committee often organise social gatherings for members. I also met wonderful course mates and friends from all over the world and learnt a lot both from a cultural and academic perspective.

What are your future plans?

I aim to get a job in data analysis or business intelligence. The MSc programme has provided me with a strong statistical foundation as well as hands-on practice with different kinds of software, which tremendously shaped my knowledge for this career path.
