There are so many to choose from, it’s hard to know where to begin. I enjoyed the wide diversity of the modules you can study for your degree, then you get the chance to put them into practice through placements and other opportunities. I was chosen to receive a university funded international volunteering placement to Thailand. Southampton partnered with Gapforce and sent me for there for three weeks at the end of my first year which was a fantastic experience.
I made a lot of great friends at Southampton and it’s kindled a passion for learning. I know I want to do an MBA at some time in the future.
In my final year, I was President of the Business Society, helping other students get the most out of their time at university. It tested my organisational skills as I had to run two balls, one for 350 people aboard a boat and I was also a project leader with the student entrepreneurial society Enactus

I did a placement at JP Morgan in Bournemouth for ten weeks, working on oversight and control and I’ve now got a place on the company’s graduate scheme.
I had taken a Foundation Year in Arts before coming to Southampton and chose an innovation module as part of my degree here covering how the arts work. Eventually, I would like to combine the arts with business by working for a company such as Christie’s or Sotheby’s.
