As well as learning the essential information you need to be an accountant, there is scope to broaden your knowledge.

I enjoyed studying at the Southampton Business School because my degree was so flexible. As well as learning the essential information you need to be an accountant, there is scope to broaden your knowledge and I took two Law modules as well.

During my studies, I won a scholarship prize in my first year, the Deloitte Prize in my second year and in my third year I have graduated with a First Class Degree and won the Avens Prize plus the Southampton Business School Best Performance in a Programme Prize.

I always enjoyed numbers at school and three of the A levels that I studied were in Maths, Further Maths and Economics, so studying Accounting and Finance was an obvious choice. I’m going on to take a Masters at the London School of Economics in Economic History, it’s so relevant when you consider the state of the world at the moment.

My ambition is to become a chartered accountant, it’s a very useful qualification because once you have it, the world is your oyster.
